Frequently Asked Questions

FC2
Our FC2 Pump Controller is a dual pump capable single stage controller that comes with 1’ of 6 Gauge power and ground wire connected to an APP connector. When you purchase a FC2 with our Power and Ground Harness, the controller will come with 15’ of Red 6 Gauge Power Wire and 3’ of Black 6 Gauge Ground Wire; along with an 80AMP Inline Fuse Holder, Ring Terminal, Heat Shrink, and 2 Ferrules.

FC3
Our FC3 Pump Controller is a dual OR triple pump capable, two stage controller, that comes with 1’ of 4 Gauge power and ground wire connected to an APP connector. Our FC3 is capable of using a Pressure Switch to stage the pumps. When you purchase a FC3 with our Power and Ground Harness, the controller will come with 15’ of Red 4 Gauge Power wire, 3’ of Black 4 Gauge Ground wire, along with a 100AMP Inline Fuse Holder, Ring Terminal, Heat Shrink, and 2 Ferrules. When ordered with 3 Pump Pigtails, the FC3 Controller will come with 3 of our pump pigtails along with an additional set of connectors so you can attach them to your application.

Blue
Our Blue rubber seals are meant for any 12-14 AWG PVC insulated wire ran throughout the car, however they are not meant for connections that will touch fuel.

Green
Our Green rubber seals are meant to be used on the top of our fuel pump modules. These seals are designed for 12-14 AWG PTFE insulated wire; however, they are not meant for connections that will touch fuel.

Red
Our Red rubber seals are for any connections made inside a fuel tank. The red seals can be fully submerged in fuel and will not degrade any electrical connections. These seals are designed for 12-14 AWG PTFE insulated wire.

Staging your fuel pumps means that you have a pressure switch that allows your primary pump to run full time while your secondary pumps activate when you reach 4+ PSI of boost. This gives your car much better driveability along with longer pump life expectancy as your fuel will remain at a much lower temperature. Our FC3 is the only controller we sell that has this capability.

PTFE
Our PTFE hose has a PTFE core with an external stainless reinforcing braid and must be used with PTFE specific hose ends. PTFE is the most chemically resistant hose available and is compatible with all automotive fluids and fuels, including all race fuels, methanol, and ethanol, with the exception of acetone. PTFE hose has an infinite service life as the high density PTFE core cannot be permeated by automotive fluids. Unlike most types of hose, PTFE remains odorless which makes it the best choice for garage kept vehicles. A thin PTFE core contributes to a small outer diameter and an improved bend radius over typical rubber/stainless hose. Stainless reinforcement may increase vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) in some applications.

FlexLP
Our FlexLP hose has an Elastomer Core, FKM internal liner, integrated stainless reinforcement, and black nylon external braid with a gray tracer. FlexLP hose is compatible with all automotive fluids and fuels, including all race fuels, methanol, and ethanol. The FKM internal liner is resistant to permeation by automotive fluids, so no smell is observed from the hose (like our PTFE hose), however depending on the type of fluids used and conditions, FlexLP generally has a service life of 5-7 years. The predominantly elastomer construction does not contribute to vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) in most applications. We recommend FlexLP over our other types of Fuel Hose as FlexLP is the most user friendly and no noise or smell.

Startlite
Our Starlite hose is Eaton Aeroquip's proprietary AQP (elastomer) core fuel hose with a flat black Kevlar and Nomex external reinforcing braid. Starlite hose is compatible with all automotive fluids and fuels, including all race fuels, methanol, and ethanol. It is the easiest to install and repair due to the lack of stainless reinforcement. AQP elastomer is permeable by automotive fluids, so expect a fluid smell from the hose. Higher alcohol content fuels will permeate more aggressively. Expect a 5-7 year service life (dependent on the fluids used and conditions). Elastomer construction will not contribute to vehicle NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). We do not recommend using Starlite hose in a garage kept vehicle due to permeation and the resulting fuel odor.

Compression Hose Ends such as the hose ends for FlexLP or Starlite are reusable as long as the threads are not damaged.

PTFE Hose Ends are reusable as long as the Brass Olive is not damaged upon installation. The brass olive can be easily damaged if installed incorrectly.

We currently offer 3 types of Filter Elements (Cellulose, Micrograss, and Stainless) in 2 size options (88mm and 128mm).

Cellulose: Our disposable cellulose filter elements provide a 10 micron nominal and 14 micron absolute filtration for gasoline and race gas.

Microglass: Our disposable microglass filter elements provide 12 micron absolute filtration and can be used with all fuel types and blends such as gasoline, race gas, E85, E100, M5, and diesel.

Stainless: Our reusable stainless element provides 10 micron nominal, 26 micron absolute filtration and can be used with all fuel types and blends such as gasoline, race gas, E85, E100, M5, and diesel.
